Tea App for iPhone has launched

After months of waiting, tea drinkers everywhere now have access to the newly launched Tea App, which is steadily climbing the charts in Apple’s app store. Impressive design meets utility, as Samuel Iglesias led the programming while Mac Tyler came up with design, in a collaborative effort to offer tea enthusiasts a new tool that perfects individual steeping needs across different teas. With the highest precision, these relatively young creators crafted this elegant app with careful detail, boasting utilization of newer iPhone’s Retina Display and a most natural user interface.
Tea App presents a useful tea timer, with necessary measurement and temperature control, as well allowing the user to add their latest tasting notes. When done steeping, you’ll then get to share your last tea experience with your friends on Twitter & Facebook, which may be enough to persuade them with which tea they decide to try next. This is what helps tea companies gain more publicity in a natural way over time, within networks of friends. It’s great to see that an app can help progress the tea industry even more.
Enjoy the following video, as creator, Sam Iglesias, shares with us a short tour of Tea App:

This looks great! I had some ideas for a tea app a while back after checking several out and finding them lacking… which I shared with Rishi tea – perhaps you might like to incorporate some of these if interested. Some of these were meant to be specific to a particular tea store or stores, so that they would grab information from their online store into the app…. or facilitate ordering more tea, directly from the app…
select any tea from Rishi’s store (or store X) and get custom brewing instructions: timer, temperature, amount of tea, water etc. (which can then be edited to user’s taste)
also, get info on tea origin (including:
pics of the field/grower ),
**tea plant variety and age,
**cultivation notes & harvest period (May? August?),
**processing notes (steaming?),
** expiration and storage tips,
**health info: (amounts of catechin, theanine, caffeine, vitamin C, chlorophyll, etc.)
**select from first brew vs. second, third brew for subsequent brewing from the same leaves at different times/temp
**separate instructions for iced tea or alternate brewing methods
ability to edit any of the settings to user preference (ie, a slightly longer steeping time, slightly higher water temp.)
ability to set up user’s own custom timers for other teas – including ability to input any of the info above for any other teas.
ability for users to share their own custom tea profiles with one another
set background music or end of timer sound/song/bell/gong from the app or iTunes library
Store
locate Rishi Teas (or store x) nearby where you are at the moment
read about and purchase teas directly from the app. via your rishi-tea account (or store x) – including all of the info above about each tea.
